The Pentland Floating Offshore Wind Farm today, 3 September 2024, has not been successful in the UK’s sixth Contract for Difference (CfD) Allocation Round (AR6).
Richard Copeland, Project Director of the Pentland Floating Offshore Wind Farm, said:
“Demonstration projects like Pentland remain of significant importance in enabling floating offshore wind, a key technology in accelerating Scotland and the UK’s transition towards net zero and underpinning energy security. The project has all key development milestones in place, and we look forward to further engagement with the UK Government and stakeholders on taking this significant project forward.”
The Pentland Floating Offshore Wind Farm is being developed by Highland Wind Limited which is majority owned by Flagship Funds managed by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) with Hexicon A/B as a minority shareholder. Earlier this year the project announced investment from new part-owner Eurus Energy UK Ltd. (Eurus Energy). Project development activities are being led by CIP’s development partner, Copenhagen Offshore Partners (COP).
