Accelerating the development of floating wind in Scotland

About us

Pentland Floating Offshore Wind Farm is being developed by Highland Wind Limited which is majority owned by a fund managed by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) with Hexicon AB as a minority shareholder. Project development activities are being led by CIP’s development partner, Copenhagen Offshore Partners (COP). The project development team is based in COP’s Global Floating Wind Competence Centre, recently established in Edinburgh.


Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners P/S (CIP) is a fund management company focused on energy infrastructure including offshore wind, onshore wind, solar photovoltaic (PV), biomass and energy-from-waste, transmission and distribution, reserve capacity and storage, and other energy assets like Power-to-X. CIP has offices in Copenhagen, Hamburg, New York, Tokyo, Utrecht, Melbourne and London. CIP was founded in 2012 by senior executives from the energy industry in cooperation with PensionDanmark. CIP manages eight funds and has approximately €16 billion under management. CIP is actively working on the development of over 17 GW of floating offshore wind projects globally. Along with Pentland, this includes:
  • ScotWind: a 2.6GW floating offshore wind farm on the East coast of Scotland in partnership with SSE and Marubeni
  • Italy: a 250MW floating project situated off the west coast of Sicily and and 500 MW floating wind project off the coast of Sardinia with partners Plenitude (Eni) and CDP Equity.
  • Korea: 1.5GW floating wind complex in waters near Ulsan which have secured electricity business licences, South Korea to be completed by 2029/2030.
  • Active developments in the USA, Taiwan and Greece.

Meet the team

Richard CopelandRichard Copeland is the Project Director of the Pentland Floating Offshore Wind Farm. Richard leads the Project Team and oversees the delivery of the project.
Alan HannahAlan Hannah is the Managing Director for Copenhagen Offshore Partners (COP) in the UK. Alan has been involved in offshore wind projects spanning over an 18-year period with significant experience in the development, construction, and operations of offshore wind farms across Europe and U.S. Alan leads COP’s Floating Offshore Wind Competence Centre in Edinburgh.
Andy BlythAndy Blyth is the Floating Environment and Consents Manager on the Pentland Floating Offshore Wind Farm. Andy's role is to support the consenting activities to deliver a project that minimises environmental impacts. Andy provides technical support for the preparation of the Environmental Impact Assessment Reports.
Isaac ConnellIsaac Connell is the Deputy Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) Director for the Pentland Floating Offshore Wind Farm. Isaac's role is to support the EPC director and package managers in the coordination of engineering and procurement activities across all project contracts.
Lee SenoussiLee Senoussi is the Engineering Manager for the Pentland Floating Offshore Wind Farm. His role is to oversee the engineering and design of the wind farm.
Peter MoorePeter Moore is the Consents Lead for the Pentland Floating Offshore Wind Farm. Peter's role is to manage the applications for the project to obtain the necessary permits and licences to build and operate the wind farm.
Rebecca MarshallRebecca Marshall is the Consents Coordinator on the Pentland Floating Offshore Wind Farm. Rebecca's role is to support the consents and permitting activities for the project.
Shelley KayShelley Kay is the Senior Project Management Office (PMO) Manager for the Pentland Floating Offshore Wind Farm Project. Shelley supports the team with project planning, risk, cost and documentation management activities.
Tamsin WattTamsin Watt is the Offshore Consents Manager for the Pentland Floating Offshore Wind Farm. Tamsin's role is to oversee the preparation and submission of the Offshore Environmental Impact Assessment Report which will be submitted in support of the consent application.
